Julie Kraska

Julie has spent the last 40 years focusing her energy and commitment to the field by focusing her scope of practice to the area of Pediatric Occupational therapy.  

A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Julie began her career in home health before joining Nemours Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, where she established its first occupational therapy department.
 

Julie’s expertise spans acute care, outpatient services, and neonatal intensive care. After returning to Kentucky, she spent 14 years at the Child Development Centers of the Bluegrass, an inclusive preschool, where she honed her skills in collaborative, multidisciplinary care.
 

In 2003, Julie founded her own Lexington-based pediatric occupational therapy practice, serving children and families with compassion and innovation. She has been a consultant for federal grants, a member of transdisciplinary evaluation teams, and a guest lecturer for the University of Kentucky and its Human Development Institute. Julie co-developed an online course on self-regulation in children and has presented over 50 workshops at national and local levels.
 

Julie’s passion for helping children thrive remains the cornerstone of her career. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, and... playing. She firmly believes she has the best job in the world!
